She was born on August 28, 1984 in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria. She is currently 38 years old (1984-2022).

Mercy Johnson is originally from Okene Local Government in Kogi State, Nigeria but was born in Lagos State to a former Naval Officer, Daniel Johnson and his beloved wife Elizabeth. She is the fourth child in a family of seven.
Mercy Johnson attended her primary school education in Nigerian Navy Primary School, Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate.
After completing her primary education, she proceeded to the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Portharcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria where she obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.

Mercy Johnson joined the Nigerian movie industry also known as Nollywood professionally in 2004.
On August 27, 2011, she got married to Prince Odianosen Okojie and the marriage is blessed with four beautiful kids.
In 2009, she won an award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2009 African Movie Award ceremony for her performance in the movie “Live to Remember”.
In 2013, she won an award for Best Actress award at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in the comedy movie Dumebi the Dirty Girl.
In December 2011, she was listed as Google’s most searched Nigerian celebrity, a position she also held in 2012.
