Boybits Victoria Biography
Emmanuel “Boybits” Victoria passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday night after suffering a heart attack. He was born on May 10, 1971, and passed away on March 1, 2023.
He was 50.
His Son, Nathan Victoria, who is committed to playing and studying for the College of Saint Benilde, wrote a beautiful tribute to his father shortly after his passing.
Get some rest, old man, for you have nothing better to do than watch me grow into the person I’m meant to be. I will dedicate the rest of my life to helping you in any way I can.
Boybits, a San Beda graduate who attended school there from kindergarten through college, was selected by Swift with the third overall pick in the 1994 Philippine Basketball League Draft.
He won the Rookie of the Year award by outlasting a strong field that was headed by Noli Locsin. Swift won the 1995 Commissioner’s Cup and the 1995 All-Filipino Cup with Victoria’s help.
Victoria announced the end of his professional career in San Miguel in 2001.
Victoria has since continued his career in sports, switching between the positions of coach and commentator.
Together with his son Nathan, he is survived by his wife Cielo, daughter Ciaz, and grandchildren.
